I have my own hang ups when it comes to Diversity, sometimes I want pure segregation, since it’s here ANYWAYS! Yea, I said it, Segregation is alive and well it’s just labeled differently, you can call it Urban or Suburban, but it’s segregation. I also fight CLASSISM, clicking up with only LIKE Minded individuals and stuff. I also fight stereotyping immigrants. I took an offense to what I believed was them (immigrants who own EASTLAND Mall) aligning with our common oppressor(Scary White people in power, self preserving) then squeezing African American born citizens out of any fair deals or any real financial partnerships with them or that property, citing. Stereotypical African American laziness or Ratchetness as deterrents from working with us, but only as under paid maintenance workers (they pay the current SINGLE maintenance worker only $13 an hour for his constant work, and he’s responsible for putting up all the holiday decor, broken bathrooms, leaking roof, and any City Code Infractions So that the Director, Neil can hide in the back office, monitor his token black worker because he’s a germiphobic Masogynistic that demeans her with menial cleaning tasks, Possibly religion related, lie to the City, and say he’s new ) or naive cleaning contractors, who could then take any of the blame for the malls continued death spiral into disrepair. I was very upset that the current owners( in Dubai) lacked any desire to truly cater, in a clean respectable way to that locations true clientele, African Americans in Columbus, Ohio. BECAUSE I LOVE MY CITY, & MY PEOPLE But LORD, they turned our historical Black Mall into a WEAK@!#$ cover for a Flea Market. I’m still PISSED, and I’m still trying to raise money and Investors to have a consortium and buy it FROM DUBAI, ourselves! Yes, I have to get over perceived infractions from others not like me, however, I don’t have to be quiet about it, anymore.✊
